A swim academy built on a love of water

Water Creations Swim Academy was founded by people who genuinely love swimming and teaching it well.

Our Journey

WCSA was founded six years ago by Cory Abrahams, a former swimmer at Cheshunt Swim Club, who has always felt at home in the water and wanted to help children feel the same confidence.

Cory has over 9 years of experience as a qualified lifeguard and swim teacher. Alongside completing his university education and working as a primary school teacher, he has been a key figure in the Hertfordshire swimming community and beyond.

Over the past 6 years, WCSA has supported hundreds of children as they learn to swim, with many families staying with the programme from their very first lesson.

What Sets Us Apart

The key elements that make every lesson safe, effective, and enjoyable.

Welcoming environment

A calm, encouraging space where children feel comfortable from the moment they step in. We focus on confidence first, then progress naturally follows.

Our instructors are patient, attentive and genuinely invested in every child’s journey in the water.

We want children to feel happy, confident and connected to the water, not just learn how to swim in it.

From the pool deck to the classroom atmosphere, we prioritise safety, trust and a positive experience for every family.

We pay attention to each child’s personality, comfort level and pace so they feel seen, supported and encouraged.

With a maximum of 5–8 swimmers per class (depending on level), every child receives focused, individual attention.

Swimming development takes time. We focus on steady improvement, building skills carefully and confidently at every stage.

Teaching Philosophy

Every WCSA teacher is trained in-house to the STA standard. We look for people who love being in and around the water, and who are passionate about how children learn. We have an ambition to be the highest-paying swim school in the area because we want our teachers to be the kind who come to lessons because they want to. And it shows in the pool.

Here’s what our patrons have to say about us

Questions? We’re Here to Help

Have a question? Our team is here to support you and your child at every stage.

What are the class sizes?

Class sizes are kept intentionally small to give every child proper attention. We teach up to 5 swimmers in Ducklings to Level 2, up to 6 in Levels 3 to 5, and 6 to 8 in Levels 6 and 7. Siblings can also be placed in the same or back to back sessions where possible.

We don’t offer free trials. Instead, every child is assessed during their first lesson so we can place them in the level that genuinely suits their ability and confidence in the water.
Yes. Our Holiday Camps are registered on Ofsted’s Voluntary Childcare Register, giving parents added reassurance around safety and standards.

We accept Tax-Free Childcare payments using Provider ID 2869914. Employer childcare vouchers, cheques, American Express and PayPal are not currently accepted.

Adult swimming lessons are currently being scheduled. Register your interest and we’ll be in touch once new sessions become available.

You can register your interest through our Swim Teacher Course page. We’ll contact you as soon as upcoming STA course dates are released.

No prior teaching experience is needed. You simply need to be at least 16 years old, comfortable in the water, and able to swim 25m confidently.
