Water Creations Swim Academy was founded by people who genuinely love swimming and teaching it well.
What started as a small, family-led swim school has grown into one of Hertfordshire’s most trusted swimming academies.
WCSA was founded in September 2019 as Water Creations Swim Academy by Cory Abrahams â a former Cheshunt Swim Club swimmer and primary school teacher who has always felt at home in the water. From a young age, Coryâs mum Gemma made sure he could swim and feel confident around water â a value that continues to shape everything WCSA stands for today.
What began as a weekend family venture quickly grew into something much more. Gemma joined early on in 2020, later qualifying as a swim teacher in 2021. Since then, she has stepped away from her career in imports and exports to become co-director â working closely both behind the scenes and on the ground to ensure a smooth, supportive and enjoyable experience for every parent and child.
Cory qualified as a swimming teacher in 2016, combining years of primary school teaching experience, sporting expertise and a genuine passion for the water. In August 2023, WCSA expanded further with the introduction of holiday camps, offering even more opportunities for children to build confidence and skills beyond weekly lessons.

Our journey begins at home. Weâve proudly trained 24 swimming teachers across the UK, ensuring the highest standards of safety and engagement for our local communities.
Beyond the UK, WCSA proudly supports 40 teachers in Uganda through Angel Swim London, helping expand access to water safety education and contributing to 2000+ children being taught water safety internationally.
Through its charity initiative in the Philippines, WCSA helps provide children with greater access to swim education and life-saving water safety skills, supporting safer communities through international outreach.

Every WCSA teacher is trained in-house to the STA standard. We look for people who love being in and around the water, and who are passionate about how children learn. We have an ambition to be the highest-paying swim school in the area because we want our teachers to be the kind who come to lessons because they want to. And it shows in the pool.

Class sizes are kept intentionally small to give every child proper attention. We teach up to 5 swimmers in Ducklings to Level 2, up to 6 in Levels 3 to 5, and 6 to 8 in Levels 6 and 7. Siblings can also be placed in the same or back to back sessions where possible.
We accept Tax-Free Childcare payments using Provider ID 2869914. Employer childcare vouchers, cheques, American Express and PayPal are not currently accepted.
Adult swimming lessons are currently being scheduled. Register your interest and weâll be in touch once new sessions become available.

No prior teaching experience is needed. You simply need to be at least 16 years old, comfortable in the water, and able to swim 25m confidently.
